Release Notes

Release 17.0.0 - 31st July 2025

This release marks a significant advancement in comparison performance, configurability, and usability. The highlights of this version include the introduction of input multithreading to boost processing efficiency, powerful new XML comparison features such as in-built ignore rules, attribute word by word processing, and unordered comparison capabilities, and a new lightweight Data Comparator pipeline. The visual comparison experience has also been enhanced, offering improved clarity in element moves and attribute-level changes. 

Important Note: Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) are no longer shipped with XML Compare from this version onward. Please refer to the documentation for headless or API-based usage options.

Input pipelines now run in parallel, significantly improving overall comparison performance - especially for large and complex documents and data sets.

A streamlined data comparison pipeline has been introduced for use cases requiring fast, minimal-configuration analysis of datasets.

Side-by-Side Diff Report: 

  • Now supports visualizing element moves for easier tracking of structural changes. 

  • Improved detail in attribute differences down to the word level for enhanced precision in reviews.

In-built Ignore Changes: Automatically suppress differences in selected elements or attributes to reduce noise and focus on meaningful variations.

Unordered Comparison Support: Enables subtree-level configuration to treat element ordering as significant or insignificant, offering flexibility in structured document comparisons.

Attribute Word-by-Word Processing: Provides word-level granularity in attribute comparisons for clearer insights into subtle changes.
